We’ve all heard of chronic inflammation. It’s that kinda vague but apparently really bad condition that’s linked to everything from cancer to heart disease, Alzheimer’s to arthritis. (If you’re totally lost, check out this article from the Mayo Clinic.) So what can we really do to prevent inflammation? What’s our game plan?
Unfortunately we don’t have all the answers yet, and we certainly don’t have cures for all known diseases. In fact in some instances we’re not even sure how to prevent or treat disease! Major bummer.
But in the meantime, why not heed the dietary advice of experts who say that eating anti-inflammatory foods may in fact help curb or reduce inflammation? Hey, if it’s already good for the body, and possibly prevents/treats disease, AND involves eating delicious food, I’m in!
I really admire Dr. Andrew Weil, and have been following him for quite some time. Click HERE to check out his short article that discusses his anti-inflammatory diet recommendations.
I also found this clip that has Dr. Weil discussing the benefits of ginger and turmeric, two things I love. Bring on the curry please!
So the next time you’re at the store, consider these dietary recommendations and maybe throw a few choice items in the cart. It’s all about variety baby! Why not give your body a little extra dose of natural medicine…and take a break from those processed foods?
